Sierra USB598 and Ubuntu-10.0

I am impressed. My new install of ubuntu-10.10 on my Lenovo s10-2 w/a Sprint Sierra Wireless USB 598 dongle was as simple to add as it gets:

Plug it in, System | Pref | Network Connections | Mobile | Add (answer the (default) prompts

Just don't forget to mark the automatically connect box (or manually force a connect after inserting the dongle).

I just installed ubuntu-10.10 on my lenovo s10-2. So far, so good. I selected 3rd party drivers to permit the wireless to function. No problems thus far.

ugh. i am in a college course for unix i as my employer will not let me test out of it. at least i will learn some debian since that is what ubuntu is under its covers.

bt4 rc1 on s10-2

backtrack 4 rc1 is working just great on this platform (Lenovo S10-2). The SSD drive is nice, not overly fast but it should help w/moving the laptop around or wardriving, etc.
